Northhouse Logistics

Denise was all about getting to know us and our business first, focused on relationship building rather than selling us a product or service. She went above and beyond to help us understand the requirements of the SBA Program and why they were important. The SBA Program is strict, but working with Denise made it better. 150%, I would recommend Denise to other small business owners in need of a loan.

Client Profile

Northhouse Logistics is an Independent Service Provider for FedEx® Corporation, delivering 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Because FedEx® primarily delivers express packages, the transport company relies on a vast network of contractors like Northhouse Logistics to carry out the bulk of their deliveries. The routes served by Northhouse Logistics are located primarily in the Durham, North Carolina area, where they provide deliveries and pickups for households and businesses alike. Business partners and brothers, Carlson Chimangha and Tibui-Ivan Ade’s corporate backgrounds allow them to bring a unique skillset to the business, with an awareness and understanding for how to optimize the business, manage people effectively, and grow sustainably.

Loan Profile

Before moving to the United States, Carlson received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and finance in Cameroon, where he is from. Carlson’s initial career path took him toward project management, where his experience spanned several large corporations such as TD Bank, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and Duke Energy. Over time, Carlson began to dream of owning his own business, where he would have the autonomy to make the changes as needed to optimize his business. Ivan comes from a similar background with experience in the automotive industry. After extensive research into opportunities to own a business, they landed on FedEx for its guaranteed market and proven, successful system. To acquire the business, they chose to pursue an SBA Loan, which offered a lower capital requirement and allowed them to combine an SBA Express Loan for working capital into the loan package. In search of a bank to establish a business banking relationship with, Carlson and Ivan spent three months interviewing banks to choose a business banking partner. The brothers were attracted to Dogwood State Bank’s community focus and were ultimately sold on the bank after connecting with Denise Clemence. Together, they successfully obtained an SBA 7(a) Loan for the business acquisition, allowing Carlson and Ivan to start the business.
