Pursuing financing can be frustrating, and many of the experiences I had before Michael were filled with empty promises. Michael was different. He believed in me and my business, supported me, provided input, and set clear expectations. What he said would happen, happened. He has supported me through both SBA transactions and it’s been fantastic. I couldn’t recommend Michael more – he is unbelievable to work with. Additionally, the closing officer was fantastic, professional, and kind. The Dogwood team is as good as I’ve ever experienced.

Loan Profile
Andrew Nystrom grew up in Vermont, only moving away for a short time following college. Following college, he worked for a juice company, managing their Northeast region, where he worked with a lot of companies (many of them grocers). Looking for a way to get back to Vermont, Andrew decided to get into the grocery business. He purchased and sold a small grocery store before purchasing Snow Mountain Market in 2008.
Andrew first connected with Business Lending Specialist, Michael Johnson in 2016 when he bought the property for his existing grocery store. For the commercial real estate purchase, Andrew had pursued an SBA 7(a) Loan. Fast forward a couple of years later in 2018, Andrew began thinking about expanding the grocery store, having doubled their size since 2008. He decided to renovate the existing space and build onto it. To do so, Michael helped Andrew refinance his original SBA 7(a) Loan into an SBA 504 loan, providing a fixed rate. The SBA Program provided an open door for Andrew to pursue the financing he needed with less money down, and make his goals of expanding the grocery store a reality.
